HEALING MASSMass this coming Friday October 2nd is the First Friday of the Month. We are encouraging as many people as possible to participate in this Mass of Healing, where we pray God for health of mind, soul and body. This Mass will be at 10:00am Friday morning. Hopefully our Knights of Columbus will furnish a little breakfast so we can have time for fellowship and conversation.

Coffee and DonutsWe begin our coffee and donuts after Mass this Sunday. We encourage our people to stop by for a little fellowship and the opportunity to get to know one another a little better.

Bible School Sincere gratitude to the children their parents and teachers who participated with Fr. Ruane with our little kick-off program in church last Sunday. While we were happy with the response of all who participated, not all were present.

Please… we still have a number of children who are not registered in our bible school classes and we continue to hope, pray and beg all of our eligible children to participate.

Why Catholic?”… We had a reasonably good response to our sign-up to “Why Catholic?” and we are extending our sign-ups through this weekend, 9/26/09 – 9/27/09 for those who may have been out of town.

Why Catholic?” small community groups will begin the week of October 4th or 11th or whenever the leader chooses.

                                        PLEASE REMEMBER – TURN YOUR

                                                        CELLPHONE OFF WHILE IN CHURCH!

                                                                                                                                                                                Thank you for you cooperation.

Rite of Christian Initiation of AdultsThe R.C.I.A. will resume in the fall. If you know of anyone interested in the R.C.I.A., or for more information, please call the Rectory at 662-226-2490 or let Karla know. RCIA is basically a detailed course of instruction on the Catholic Faith, composed of three parts; 1st Period: A time of questions and answers from the people interested. 2nd Period: The teaching and explanation of the main doctrine of the Church Faith. 3rd Period: Spiritual growth normally taking place during the Holy Season of Lent.

Choose Life Despite almost losing her psychologist’s license because of her pro-life beliefs, Theresa Burke developed an affective healing process for those women whose lives are in turmoil because of abortion. Through Rachel’s Vineyard ministries, “the darkness, pain and error of abortion are shattered by the light, love and truth of Jesus Christ,” Mrs. Burke states.   (Pro-life Reporter, Scranton, Pa., Spring, 2009)

NOTE: The Jr. CYO will resume meeting this Wednesday in the Family Life Center at 5:30pm.

Quotes:

1. I am a big believer in the “mirror test.” All that matters is if you can look in the mirror and honestly tell the person you see there, that you have don your best.   (John McKay)

2. “I expect to pass through this world but once, any good therefore that I can do, or any kindness that I can show to any fellow creature, let me do it now. Let me not defer or neglect it, for I shall not pass this way again.”  (William Penn)
