VACATION

Father Ruane will be leaving immediately after mass for the airport, hoping to catch a flight to visit with his family in Ireland and to help straighten out his brother’s farming operations.  He will be returning at the end of August.

 

WELCOME……We welcome Father Dan Gallagher, who will be taking care of us on the weekends while Father Ruane is gone. (I hope you will be nice to him because it is getting more and more difficult to find a priest to supply. – Fr. Ruane)   In case of an emergency, call Father Dan Gallagher at (601)352-7256, or Father Sam Messina at (662)563-2273.  If you are interested in helping with Father Gallagher’s transportation, please call Carolyn Parsons at 226-0530.

 

While on vacation……Since I was unable to find a priest for weekday masses, there will not be daily mass.  There will be a Communion service on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, at 8:00 a.m.  I encourage you to participate in those services when at all possible.

 

SPECIAL COLLECTION

There will be a special collection next week to aid the Catholic Church in Central and Eastern Europe.  There are brochures available in the pews and in the back of Church if you would like more information about this collection.

 

RCIA

The RCIA is the usual way that people come into full communion with the Catholic Church.  If you or anyone you know is interested in the Catholic faith, would like a refresher course in the Catholic faith, or have lapsed from the Catholic faith, we will begin a very special class around the end of September or beginning of October.   More information will be available on this when Father Ruane returns.

CATHOLIC MEN’S CONFERENCE

The third annual Catholic Man’s conference, “Who do you say that I am?”, is set for August 18 – 20, 2006 at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church in Clarksdale.  The conference begins at 7:00 p.m. on Friday and ends Sunday at 12:00 noon.  For more information, please pick up a brochure in the church vestibule.

 

RIP – We pray for the happy repose of the soul of William Waldrip’s sister, whom the Lord called home this week.  May God grant her eternal rest, and may God bless her family at this difficult time.

 

LADIES AUXILIARY

The Ladies Auxiliary has religious articles for sale.  They will be available after mass, in the CAB.  If you are interested in purchasing some, you may contact Rosa Buzzarde for more information.
