I encourage parents of school children, when at all possible from time to time, take your children to church faithfully, and occasionally to daily mass.  They need and deserve it.

VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL

DIOCESAN NEWS

The Diocese of Jackson invites everyone to celebrate the Ordination to the Priesthood of Deacon Lenin Vargas by the imposition of hands by Bishop Joseph Latino on Saturday, June 3, 2006 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Peter Cathedral, Jackson with reception following.  Please also keep in your prayers Deacon Mario Solorzano & Deacon Benjamin Martinez who will be ordained June 13 & 14 at their home parishes in Mexico before returning to our Diocese.  For more information, call the Office of Vocations at 601-949-6934.

 

ORDINATION ANNIVERSARY

Monsignor Michael Glynn is celebrating his 60^th anniversary of ordination to the priesthood.  A Mass of Thanksgiving will be celebrated at St. Richard, Jackson, on Monday, June 5, at 6:30 p.m., with a reception following.  All are welcome!  For more information call 601-366-2355.

REWORK

It is my intention to have many more of our people serve as lectors, Eucharistic Ministers, and mass servers.  I plan to do this in the fall when school and the church year begin back.  In the meantime, we need people to sign up for all of these ministries.  The lists are posted on the bulletin board in the back of church.  It is a great privilege to serve in any of these ministries.
