VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL

We are having our Vacation Bible School June 19 – June 23, from 9:00 until 12:05.  We are hoping that all of our children (leaving grades K4 – 5) will avail themselves of this opportunity to come and hopefully learn a little bit about our Catholic faith, be around the Church, be around each other, etc. etc.  Registration forms are available in the back of Church.  If you are interested in helping us get ready, there will be VBS work times from 6-8 Sunday, June 11 and 6-8 Wednesday, June 14. There is a tremendous amount of work that still needs to be done to get everything ready for our children.  We are also still accepting shoe boxes with lids, and anything that could be used for decorations that would go along with our “Fiesta” theme.

LOOKING GOOD

We have received many compliments on our Church since it received its facelift.  It almost looks like a new building with the new windows, the painting of the crosses and doors, etc. etc.  Let us all strive to have our buildings and our grounds looking good and attractive in our community.

HOSPITAL…….. If you are in the hospital, I would appreciate it if you would please let me know, local or otherwise, so I will at least have the opportunity of visiting and praying with you.  –Fr. Ruane

POPE BENEDICT’S FIRST ENCYCLICAL

The theme of Pope Benedict’s First Encyclical is “God is Love”.  Following is an excerpt:  “God is love, and he who abides in love, abides in God and God in him” (1 Jn 4:16)  These words from the First Letter of John express with remarkable clarity the heart of the Christian faith:  the Christian image of God and the resulting image of mankind and its destiny.  In the same verse, St. John also offers a kind of summary of the Christian life:  “We have come to know and to believe in the love God has for us.”

CONGRATULATIONS - Congratulations and God’s blessings to Greg and Cindy Mercado, whose infant children will be reborn in the waters of baptism Saturday, June 10, after mass.  We pray God’s blessings on this family at this special time in their lives.

NEW BUILDING

Our new Family Life Center is taking shape and looking great!  We feel that this is something our Church family will be very proud of when it is completed.

PROTECTION OF CHILDREN

We will have a program on the protection of children this Thursday after 6:00 Mass for all of those who will be working with our children, both during the summer and during the school year.  All parents are invited to attend.

SINCERE GRATITUDE – I would like to thank our people who generously support our Church and give of their time, talent, and possessions in this corner of the Lord’s vineyard.  I pray God’s blessings on all of your efforts. – Fr. Ruane

A LITTLE PRAYER……………Say a little prayer each day, maybe before you go to bed at night, that the good Lord will bring back home those who have lapsed temporarily from the practice of their faith.
