WORSHIP   - GERRY MORRIS

·          No report.

RELIGIOUS EDUCATION – FRANKIE FORTIER

·         It was brought before Council that a parishioner was unhappy with the Church because we are not a welcoming church community.  In order to rectify this, some suggestions were forming a welcoming committee, recognizing new members in the bulletin, or giving them a call to welcome them.  It was suggested that Mitch Sones who is chairman of Social Concerns, be responsible for getting this done.  A motion was made by Raymond Liberto and seconded by Frankie Fortier that when a new member enrolls in the Church that it be placed in the bulletin and followed up with a phone call to welcome them into our Church.

·         Gerry suggested placing a statute or a cross in an area of the new Sunday School Building and wanted to bring this idea before the Altar Society.   Father suggested one of three saints who were the patron saints of youth.   A price will need to be determined before purchasing these items.

·         Another suggestion regarding the Sunday School building was to put up Bulletin Boards.

·         Gift certificates will be purchased for the Sunday School teachers, and movie tickets will be given to those students who had perfect attendance.

OLD BUSINESS

·        The status of the renovations of the Parish Hall was discussed.  The budgeted amount for this project is $85,000.  Approximately $72,000 will be spent for the total renovations.

·        The following are items discussed that Council would like to see placed in the new Sunday School Building:

1.      Ladder for reaching cabinets

2.      Phone

3.      Copy Machine – Charlie Walker mentioned that Mitch Sones had one for sale.  He will be checking with Mitch regarding this item.

·        A motion was made by Heather Oakes to purchase new table and chairs for the new Sunday School Building as long as the cost of the total project is under budgeted amount of $85,000.  This motion was seconded by Cecilia Livingston and was accepted.

With no further business, there was a motion to adjourn by Raymond Liberto and seconded by Heather Oakes.  The next meeting has been set for January 25, 2004 at 6:30 pm in the CAB.  The meeting was adjourned at 7:45 p.m.
