It was brought before Council that a
parishioner was unhappy with the Church because we are not a welcoming church community. In order to rectify this, some suggestions were
forming a welcoming committee, recognizing new members in the bulletin, or giving them a
call to welcome them. It was suggested that
Mitch Sones who is chairman of Social Concerns, be responsible for getting this done. A motion was made by Raymond Liberto and seconded
by Frankie Fortier that when a new member enrolls in the Church that it be placed in the
bulletin and followed up with a phone call to welcome them into our Church.
·
Gerry suggested placing a statute or a
cross in an area of the new Sunday School Building and wanted to bring this idea before
the Altar Society. Father suggested one
of three saints who were the patron saints of youth.
A price will need to be determined before purchasing these items.
·
Another suggestion regarding the
Sunday School building was to put up Bulletin Boards.
·
Gift certificates will be purchased
for the Sunday School teachers, and movie tickets will be given
to those students who had perfect attendance.
